NBA Player Group Comparison (Fantasy Trade Analyzer, Fantasy Team Analyzer)

Have you ever wanted to analyze an entire group of players as a unit vs another group of players as a unit? Maybe while drafting, analyzing trade scenerios, working the waiver wire, or setting your lineup on a "full night" in a close game? Now you can. This tool will help you crunch fantasy relevant statistics for groups of players much more easily than ever before.

NOTE: Signed in users can store and edit the "player groups" they create using this tool. They can then use load them rather than having to build them from scratch every time. This is especially useful for those of you who play your fantasy games elsewhere. Create a group for each team in your league and let the fantasy team analyzer crunch the numbers for you.

It looks complicated, but it's easy once you get the hang of it. (Important, if you didn't notice, you can shrink this section into oblivion by clicking on its top bar.) Here we go.

There are 5 listboxes below. The first listbox is labeled 'List of NBA Players'. Choose players from that list and add them to the two group listboxes (Group1 G1 and Group2 G2) in order to define the groups of players you want to compare. The other two listboxes are "existing groups". The one called "private groups" are the ones YOU have previously created and chosen to save (this is only possible if you have an account with us. It's free and quick to get an account and allows you to be able to save your groups after you create them.) The other "existing group" box is the "public groups" box and includes NBA teams. Eventually it may contain other groups that will be created as we (SignAndTrade) get a better understanding of what types of groups our users like to use as jumping off points for their comparisons.

The buttons are labeled such that "Add to G1" means "copy the currently selected players or currently selected existing group into the group listbox called G1". "Explode to G1" means "take the groupname selected and put each player within that group INDIVIDUALLY into group G1". This allows you to, for example, quickly build a group made up of the Dallas Mavericks and then remove a player or two. You can't remove a player from an existing collection, but you can "explode" the collection into a group as a list of players and then remove a player at that point. Make sense?

So, after you have your group(s) built (you can do just one if you want) and you've set up all of the filters the way you want them then click either on of the "Update Settings / Run analysis" buttons. It will churn away for a minute and then the stats will display at the bottom of the screen. Each player in both groups will get their stats list individually and the aggregate stats will be included also. Finally, there will be a comparison of group G1 vs group G2 with a breakdown of which group wins which categories and by how much.

You can mix "named groups" and individual players. It should happily compute it for you. So you could choose the named group called "[nba] New York Knicks" and then add in the individual player "Carmello Anthony" and find out what it is like.

The tool is very flexible and will allow you do run all kinds of scenerios. Please let us know if you have any problems or if you think we left something out of our quick explanation.
