Le prof – Shaq teaches some physics [audio and video]
Albert Einstein? Stephen Hawking? Give me someone that can explain physics to me in a way I can understand, please. Well, how about Shaq… he can even demonstrate his theories.
Last night (11-16-2008) the Phoenix Suns were playing the Detroit Pistons and Shaq put a hard foul on Stuckey. Stuckey was driving to the basket at full speed and Shaq came from the weak side to try to block the shot. In the end, Stuckey was laid out on the ground, and Shaq was thrown out of the game for a flagrant foul.
I watched the video and I think Shaq did exactly what he should have done. He made a play on the ball and made sure the other guy didn’t score. Shaq is a big man and Stucky was moving very fast. When part of Stuckey’s body met up with part of Shaq’s body, that particular part of Stucky’s body (arms/hands/etc)ceased to continue moving. The rest of his body, as physics predicts, kept on moving as fast as it was already. In the end you get a little man being “flipped”… not by Shaq, but by his own momentum.
Shaq has to be one of the most quoteable players out there right now. I have this audio clip of his comments where he goes on to explain the physics of what happened. He’s pretty much spot on there and is understandably frustrated with being ejected.
