What I’m hearing is that Allen Iverson has been traded (deal agreed to “in principal”) to the Detroit Pistons for Chauncey Billups and Antonio McDyess. Other than being in awe that anyone would trade Iverson away I have another question. How will Detroit utilize him Iverson? And who gets McDyess’s minutes? These are important questions from a fantasy perspective.

My best guess is that they will put Iverson at the PG since Hamilton is already at the SG. It is also possible that they could move Prince to PF, Hamilton to SF, and then play iverson at SG and Stuckey at PG. I doubt this will happen, but stranger things certainly have.

Who gets any minutes that would have gone to McDyess? Well I have to believe it would be Amir Johnson. He’s in his third year. He was already the starter, and now he’s got no one really to threaten him. I would grab Amir for a few days to see how things shake out if you have another expendable player already on your fantasy team. Another player to keep an eye on through this deal is Maxiell, Jason. He just got a new contract and they are likely going to be interested in putting him to work. My bet is on Amir Johnson getting the most out of the trade.
